Buy Me a Coffee

Buy Me a Coffee

But first, it is incumbent upon me to let you know I have never had coffee in all my life.

And no, I have not been living under a rock all these years. It’s just that I could never imagine myself consuming such a concoction, and therefore, I promised myself never to give it a try. That said, I have no qualms whatsoever watching others enjoy it, even my teenaged daughter, and I am more than happy to keep my home well-stocked with a variety of gourmet blends. Indeed, overnight house guests can boast of being awakened to the aroma of coffee brewing in the kitchen.

My beverage of choice is tea, preferably piping hot but iced tea works for me too. I drink tea first thing in the morning, throughout the day, and well into the night.

Why, then, am I inviting you to buy me a coffee? It has to do with one of my writing-related goals for 2019. You have probably heard of Patreon. Just in case you haven’t, it is a subscription model platform that allows subscribers to support artists whose work they value.

You may also have heard of Ko-fi. Ko-fi also allows fans to support a favorite creator’s work but with the added benefit of no long-term commitment. With one-off donations, supporters pay for exclusive content only if wanted and only when wanted.

That said, monthly contributions are allowed; they’re just not required.

What’s my idea of exclusive content? How about work-in-progress (WIP) stories, missing scenes along with other delectable story nuggets, and considerable savings on future releases along with priority delivery!

To kick things off, I have been busy adding free content to my Ko-fi page, including the first six chapters of Together in Perfect Felicity as well as extended excerpts from previous bestsellers.

Available Exclusively from Yours Truly!

I have also established a rather modest goal for my Ko-fi page: to earn $60 which will be used to cover the cost of the Gold level membership for the first year. At this level, during later campaigns, I will be able to tailor invitations using tools not yet at my disposal. For example: a cup of coffee, or a cup of tea, or even a slice of pizza, in exchange for access to exclusive content for $1 or $2.

With the key phrase being for access to exclusive content; this service is an excellent example of win-win.

For now, what can you expect as a token of my gratitude for your generous support should you decide to buy me a coffee for $3?

Great question. How does a copy of an exclusive collection of several of my most recent releases sound? The stories in this bundle have never been included in a Pride and Prejudice variations collection before and likely will not be anytime soon. This collection will not be available in stores. It’s meant to be my way of saying thanks!

Which stories am I referring to? They’re three of my top bestselling 2018 releases: Irrevocably Gone (February 2018), Designed for Each Other (July 2018), and Which that Season Brings (December 2018). The retail price of these stories, if sold separately, is at least $17.98. That’s savings of more than 83%.

Owing to various considerations, this is a limited quantity, limited time opportunity. In addition, I will email the complimentary edition of Most Favorably Inclined to the email address on the donation notification once it’s processed. Mark messages as private if a different email address is preferred.

Interested? Click here for more. Oh, and be sure to follow me on Ko-fi. This particular invitation may not be your cup of tea (I mean, coffee), but access to future exclusive content may be just what you’re looking for. Plus, you’re sure to find the ever-increasing amount of free content worth your while.

Step by step instructions on what to expect when you visit my Ko-fi page are included in this post on my website:

I welcome your comments. What’s your preference: coffee, tea, neither? In avoiding coffee, have I been missing out all these years? As for my new venture, what’s something you would enjoy having access to? Or just say hi to let me know you stopped by.

  1. Such a genrous offer. thank you. Thank you also for explaining . i have seen Patreon before but I didn’t understand how it worked. This is my first to hear of Kofi.

The best part of coffee is the smell. So you are enjoying half of what the coffee can give.

    Thank you for the give-away.

  2. Glad to help out with your goal. Looking forward to enjoying some of these new works while I drink my hot apple cider!

    • Thanks so much for your support, Angie. At last check, I was more than 70% there. Hooray! Hot apple cider sound wonderful. I hope you love the stories. 🙂

  3. Coffee is my one addiction. Although now as I have aged I limit myself to one regular coffee daily and then if I drink more it is decaffeinated. The first time I tasted coffee was at my Grandfather Covington’s urging but his had chicory in it and I hated it. I also drink tea but even the is decaffeinated: green tea in the afternoon and chamomile before bed.

  4. I don’t really like coffee either, I prefer Hot Chocolate. My mother, niece and nephew all like coffee and for awhile I added a little bit of instant coffee to my Hot Chocolate but I only liked one brand of this cheap dollar tree instant coffee because the other few brands I tried were to strong a coffee flavor for me. Thank You for this great giveaway and good luck to everyone else entering it!

    • It’s my pleasure, Chelsea. I almost forgot that I was once a hot chocolate lover. It’s been so long. Thanks for taking part in the giveaway contest. 🙂

  5. When I was young, and my father would be outside working on a really hot day, my mother would fix him a great big glass of iced coffee or iced tea, with lots of milk and sugar in it, and have one of us kids bring it out to him. I don’t know how my brother or sister did it, but by the time I got it to him, it was usually half gone. As I got older, I came to understand he needed the cooling off more than I did. ? I don’t drink either anymore.

    • I can see how tempting it would be take one sip and then another and then another of the iced tea, especially on a really hot day, Teresa. Thanks so much for sharing and taking part in the giveaway. 🙂

  6. Coffee smells good, but, unless it is mostly cream and sugar like coffee brickle ice cream, I can’t stand the taste. I think it is one of those flavors that just lingers and gives people bad breath. You have to keep eating/drinking it so you don’t get the bad aftertaste. And tea has never been my thing either.
I hadn’t heard about a few of the sites you mentioned. Will have to check them out. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

    • It’s my pleasure, Linda. Good points! I really can’t understand why I am not put-off by the smell of coffee.

As for the sites, I have been familiar with Patreon for a long time. I think it requires a strong commitment on all sides because of its monthly subscription platform. I was instantly drawn to Ko-fi, upon learning about it because I like the support ‘if you want and when you want’ model. Thanks for checking out my page and thanks for taking part in the giveaway contest.

  7. Very much dislike coffee. And what’s the point of coffee ice cream?! I also dislike the tannins in iced tea. Hot tea is not a problem, though – go figure.
Always enjoy your books, Pam, and have tried to keep up to date. Currently, I lack only “Together in Perfect Felicity”.
I have a note that I wrote a while ago about upcoming books of yours, and I’m wondering what has happened to these titles: “The Rights to Her Heart” & “Most Ardently, Most Unknowingly in Love”. Have they been scrapped, delayed, had their names changed?

    • Coffee ice cream? That’s a first for me, and so is “tannins” … Of course, I googled it. That’s really something to think of.

Thanks so much for reading and enjoying my books. I hope you’ll enjoy Together in Perfect Felicity just as much. It’s currently 50% off at Smashwords during the Read an eBook Week sale which ends Saturday, March 9th.

I have a timeline for the publication of my new releases on my web page (Books). Just checked, and unless something changes (again), Most Ardently, Most Unknowingly in Love is planned for late Summer 2019 and The Rights to Her Heart is planned for early December 2019. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for taking part in the giveaway, Ginna! 🙂

  8. I have never had coffee and really don’t care for the smell of it either. Once and awhile I will have a couple of herbal tea. I prefer water with lemon or a coke.

    • Sounds wonderful! There was a time when I absolutely loved Coke. The ‘new’ Coke experiment cured me of that particular addiction. I do, however, keep a bottle of the ‘original’ (that I purchased from The World of Coca-Cola) in my office for a special occasion. Hope it doesn’t go bad, because I think I’ve had it for more than five years. 😮

Thanks for taking part in the giveaway!

  9. Pam, I’m with you on the coffee thing. IMNSHO, coffee’s wonderful aroma promises far more than it delivers in the cup. If you ever find yourself in the Clemson SC area be sure to let me know so I can steep up a pot of white, green, oolong, or black tea, my favourite being (Taiwan) floral oolong prepared gong fu style — including some teas that were grown right here in SC! Many thanks for your generous giveaway. I will certainly check out the links you provided which I admit to never having heard of before either. All best regards — Janis “Tea Guide” B.

    • Thanks for the lovely invitation, Janis! That’s a nice selections of teas. Your mentioning SC reminds me of my visit to the Charleston Tea Plantation. I love that place and the teas. I especially love the peach tea. It’s hard keeping a supply on hand because it’s such a favorite with me and my daughter. Thanks for checking out my Ko-fi page. 🙂

  10. I drink a cup of coffee with my husband in the morning, but it is tea for the rest of the day.I also have never heard of Ko-Fi, but I am off to check out what it is. Thank you for the giveaway. You are always most generous.

  11. I have never drank a cup of coffee, I’ve taken sips of complimentary ones but I have never liked the taste. I am definitely an iced tea drinker though as I drink that daily. I have never heard of ko-fi before but will give it a look. Thanks for the giveaway.

  12. Always so sweet to offer a giveaway. Checked out to Ko-Fi but still don’t quite understand. Will look again.

    • Thanks so much for checking out my Ko-fi page, Linny. If things go as I hope, I will be adding exclusive content very soon. In the meantime, I hope you will have another look at the free content and should you decide to buy me a cup of coffee, I hope you’ll enjoy the complimentary ebook, Most Favorably Inclined.

Thanks for commenting for a chance to win a copy of A Darcy and Elizabeth Love Affair. 🙂

  13. I am a tea lover – morning, noon, and night! I start my day with a sweet, hot cuppa and end my day with one 🙂

Thank you for the chance to win a copy of this delightful boxset.
