For all of us, 2020 has been a rough year. I was no exception. Changes, good or bad, always throw me off (I require stability to be creative), and this year was one big, massive, unstable change. LOL
I knew in the summer, when I spent weeks without writing anything more than blog posts, that I needed to do something to help me figure out how to get back into writing mode. I took a class that helped me find my strengths and use them to plan my writing schedule and to get unstuck when a story had me backed into a corner.
I wanted to write a Christmas story back in July, but had to abandon it because I got stuck. In all, this year I abandoned four stories. I knew I needed to publish one more before the year was out, so, after the class I took, I sat down and thought about what to write.
I decided, after a discussion with a couple friends, to write something that pleased me, even if no one else liked it. Now, that can be a dangerous thing when one is a JAFF writer who lives off her writing income. However, I knew it would come easily if I did that. So, I prayed about it and then sat down and laid out the basics of a Christmas story. The result is Darcy’s Yuletide Wedding.
The book is live on all the major channels at this point, and is posting on DarcyandLizzy.com. I have given copies away in my Burton’s Babes Facebook readers group, and to my email list. Now, I want to give a couple copies away here. To win one of two eBook copies of Darcy’s Yuletide Wedding, all you have to do to enter is leave a comment at the bottom of this post before 11:59 pm Eastern on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Regina will announce the winners on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
In case you’re wondering what I have planned next, I have happily taken up the notes from one of the previously-mentioned abandoned stories and made a new notebook for it. (I can’t find the previous one, which is a whole other story. LOL) Hopefully, I’ll have a new release in two or three months. 🙂
