Hoping that you all had a safe, blessed, and happy holiday season. Mine was filled with old and new traditions including my first year participating in the Austenesque Jolabokaflod. I received these fabulous books for research. š
Of course, the baking didn’t get done and not all the lights were hung, the Christmas tree had lights and angel but no ornaments, but we were a happy bunch, enjoying each other’s company and what is better than that?
In past years, I have confessed to not being a big resolution person, but I do look at the year and make a basic plan (which sometimes gets completely rewritten by June). In 2021, the first two books in the Defying Propriety Series, As a Proper Lady WouldĀ andĀ Son of an Earl,Ā were released. The first book is now available in Kindle Unlimited as of January 1, 2022, and the second book will move to KU in March, just before the third book releases later that month or early April. Fingers crossed, the fourth book will be out during the summer.
Another January tradition is I go back and read old ideas to see if any might be ready to be completed and one definitely caught my eye. Of course, I have to wait until the series is finished, but I might be able to get it done by the end of the year or beginning of next.
So, what traditions did you add or miss this year? Have you made your plans for the new year yet?
It’s time to put 2021 to bed and leap into 2022! Happy New Year!
Iām definitely hoping for a better 2022! I had two urgent operations last year, one on 23rd December (still awaiting results on that one) so my decorations were definitely minimal at Christmas! Iām hoping for at least an easing of this pandemic, Iām hoping that my daughter and family can visit from Australia sometime and Iām hoping for a healthier year.
Oh no! Glynis, I hope you hear good things from your last operation and pray that 2022 will be better with visits from those you love.
Happy New Year to ALL!!!
My resolution is to stay on top/ahead of things this year, so far a little successful ???
We also take down the Christmas tree after Jan 6. Had been busy and so tired so I still have my tree up ???. Well if I keep it up, I will be meeting my resolution. I will be ahead of decorating for Christmas 2022 ???
My tree was easy to take down this year. It was only 3 feet high and decorated with just lights and an angel topper. I spent Thanksgiving in Atlanta and didn’t get to decorate the next day like I usually do so the tree got thrown up on December 22. lol
I like the way you’re looking at it – definitely positive thinking. š??
We moved to Florida three years ago, to enjoy a warmer climate. However, as wonderful as living here is, I do miss family traditions with our kids back home. The one that we miss the most is having Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with the kids and our grandkids. But our plan is to be together this year for Christmas, if at all possible.
My family is spread around as well. There are years we haven’t exchanged presents until April or sometime in the summer. But I am sure you were glad to be in Florida this past week when many of us got so much snow dumped on us.
I hope you are all together this year.
I made the resolution to eat healthier but Iām already not doing very well with it.
I’ve been working on that for the last year or two. There are mountain tops and valleys, but just stick with it. Mindfulness is the key. You got this!
We put the usual decorations up and had dinner together. The virus makes it hard but we muddle through. We’re still eating our Christmas cookies!lol
Lucky you! I didn’t do any Christmas baking this year. If we get snowed in this weekend, I just might make some late batches. š
Because I am moving to a new house this month, in December, I spent much time packing and sorting and disposing of things I should have dispensed with years ago. Therefore, I put up no Christmas tree or anything decorations inside. I did do a few outside, but not as many as usual. It was all I could manage.
God bless you! I cannot imagine moving at this time of year. A few years ago I started looking at things and saying “If I moved tomorrow, would this go with me?” If the answer was no, I tossed it out or donated it. Unfortunately, I stopped at some point and I think I’m back to where I was before I started. lol
